Historical Fun Fact:

Historical Fun Fact:

This one’s not medieval in the slightest, but it’s still fun none-the-less.
In August 1892, two women got into a heated argument that had to be settled by duel.
The women, Princess Pauline von Metternich and Countess Anastasia Kielmannsegg, armed themselves with rapiers, shed their blouses, and dueled to first blood in their corsets and chemises.

What started this fight, you might ask? Some records indicate that the disagreement was over flower arrangements.
This duel is also significant because no men were involved whatsoever.
The duelists were female, as were their seconds, as was the medic who presided over the duel.

As for the removal of their blouses, that was recommended by the medic, who feared that the clothing might get caught in a wound and cause complications.
