Meet Josephine Myrtle Corbin, the girl born with extra set of legs.


Josephine Myrtle Corbin (May 12, 1868 – May 6, 1928) was an American sideshow performer born as a dipygus. This referred to the fact that she had two separate pelvises side by side from the waist down, as a result of her body axis splitting as it developed. Each of her smaller inner legs was paired with one of her outer legs. She was said to be able to move her inner legs, but they were too weak for walking.

Myrtle's birth was not marked by anything "peculiar about the labour or delivery" according to her mother. Doctors who examined the child shortly after her birth noted that a breech presentation "would have proved fatal to the infant, and possibly to the mother." Corbin soon showed herself to be a strong child, weighing 10 lb (4.5 kg) three weeks after the birth, and it was reported in a journal published later that year that she "nurses healthily" and was "thriving well".

Corbin entered the sideshow circuit with the moniker "Four-Legged Girl from Texas" when she was 13 years old; one of her first promotional pamphlets described her as being as "gentle of disposition as the summer sunshine and as happy as the day is long." Her popularity in this industry was such that other showmen turned to exhibiting four-legged gaffs (falsified performances). When Corbin herself was no longer performing, there were several phony four-legged women to whom audiences could turn.

She had 5 kids, she had two internal female reproductive systems. As a result, Corbin was pregnant with her first child in her left uterus. She gave birth to three of her children from one part of her body and the other two from the other part of her body

Georgi Milev Kasabov was born on January 15, 1895 in Radnevo, Bulgaria to parents who were teachers and owners of a book store. Everyone knows that childbirth isn't easy. But what if pregnant patients could simply strap themselves to a table, spin at a high speed, and propel the baby out? In the 1960s, Charlotte and George Blonsky invented a contraption to do just that. Called the Blonsky device, the machine was designed to facilitate birth using centrifugal force. For safety, it came with neck, body, and thigh straps to hold down the pregnant person, and was also outfitted with a net meant to snatch up the baby after it flies out. As ridiculous as it sounds, the Blonskys actually got their patent approved in 1965 — though, perhaps fortunately, there's no evidence that the device was ever actually used. But for one woman in Brazil, who was visiting her family tomb, that’s exactly what she was in for. According to local reports, the woman, who has not been identified, was at a cemetery in Sao Paulo’s Ferraz de Vasconcelos when she heard some odd noises and saw some dirt moving near a grave. That’s when she spotted a man, buried alive, trying to pull himself from the ground. “I was terrified to see a man who I thought was dead, trying to get out of the grave,” the woman recalled later, according to local reports.
