In addition to a post about Culloden

,  here is what was the Last known survivor of the Battle,  Peter Grant, also known as "Auld Dubrach". Born in 1714, and died in 1824 at the ripe old age of 110 (age was confirmed). His story is a fantastic one, caught after the battle, taken to Carlisle for execution,  escaping, hiding in the highland hills as a fugitive until the Act of repeal in 1782. Probably his most famous story was when he met King George 4th in Edinburgh in 1822, King George announced "Ah Grant, my oldest friend!" To which Peter replied " Nah yer majesty, I'm yer auldest Enemy."  Whether that happened is up for debate though King George did give him a generous pension for the rest of his life. (No, i have no idea what religion he was!😁😁).
